Friends for Sight VOLUNTEERS are FAN-tastic
The Annual Meeting is an appropriate time to recognize, give thanks for, and say hats off – to our wonderful volunteers. Volunteering is a mutually beneficial exchange between the volunteers and the organization. There’s a feeling of contentment and personal enrichment among the team of volunteers. Some say volunteering makes one feel younger, stronger and healthier, because volunteers are courteous, polite and well mannered.
We think our Volunteers are FAN-tastic. They bring good people together for good causes. The Board and staff are their greatest fans. Volunteers have busy lives, and we hope they know that without them, we simply couldn’t provide the vision screening services to the thousands of people we touch each year. At Friends for Sight our volunteers are our brightest stars. Many have full time jobs and busy careers. Many are students juggling their education, jobs and starting a family.
What better gift to give than the gift of sight. Friends for Sight Volunteers are excited working with children, feel rewarded seeing them respond- and knowing they’re making a difference by saving someone’s sight. That gift will last a lifetime for that person. What a pay-off.
Thank you so much!
Volunteers are well trained and rewarded for their efforts. Volunteers know their efforts make a difference when they see happy children wearing eye glasses and hear them say “I see leaves on the trees”. You can make a difference by volunteering in any of the following ways:
